    Folk Amateur Dance Ensemble “Volynyanka” of the Lutsk Palace of Culture has rich and interesting history. Its name embodies the youth of beautiful side of the Ukrainian land. Ensemble consists of 40 yong people at the age from 16. Ensemble was established in 1959.

   The Ensemble was awarded with the “Folk Amateur” honorary title for high performance artistry just over the year of performing. Ensemble’s repertoire consists of Ukrainian folk dances and dances of Volyn region. These dances involve integral dynamic choreographic scenes of Ukrainian folk celebrations, which have absorbed main patterns of Ukrainian folklore. Over the years of its existence, the Ensemble “Volynyanka” repeatedly took part in various competitions and festivals. It’s well known not only in Ukraine but also in many countries of the world. The Collective is a laureate and participant of international folk festivals in Russia, Poland, Hungary, Moldova, Belorussia, Yugoslavia, Greece, Malta, Tunis, Lebanon, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Austria, France, Israel, Sweden, Portugal, Luxemburg, Egypt, Turkey, England, China , Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands.

    Folk Music Orchestra “Volynyanka” was established at the Ensemble in 1964. Talented musicians skilfully play the ancient folk instruments, such as: koza-bas, buhay, sopilka (fistula), nay, volynka (bagpipe).The Collective is the member of the Ukrainian Section CIOFF.
