Ensemble of dance "Volynyanka" Ukraine

“Volyn pryvitalnyi” – is built on choreographic materials of the Volyn Region, in which all the participants of the ensemble greet people of our region.

“Volyn quadrille” - quadrille dance performed in old times on evenings and street celebrations. Volyn dance “Buyanskyi skakunets” – an ancient Volyn dance which is written down in a village Bujany of the Volyn region.

Volyn dance “Gupaly" - is Volyn dance .Takes its origin from the village Gupaly, built on the rhythmic percussions.

“Volyn polka" - youth rapid dance, performed on evenings (rockets).

Volyn dance “Kruzhalo” – is Volyn dance. Built on spinning in pairs and one by one. Performed on weddings.

“Poliska polka” – a rapid dance. Built on the choreographic vocabulary of Polissya region.

Volyn dance “Peregonya” – is Volyn dance, which reflects the rite of leading “Peregoni (racing)”, performed in ancient times after beets weeding.

Volyn dance “Komaryky-dzubryky" – a playful Volyn dance, that reflects an old craft of a berry gathering . But there is a great obstacle on its way: a lot of mosquitoes which live in Volyn forests and which are very persistant.

Volyn dance “Romanov whims” - is Volyn youth dance, in that girls and boys are boasting in front of each other of their obstinacy (character). Choreographic composition “Oh, vesna, vesna” – ritual composition, which shows fragments of calling the spring, chaplets twining, and boys flirting with girls.

Choreographic composition “Za svit staly kozachenky" – a composition where the disposition of the Ukrainian Cossacks is shown, their adroidness and strength, and tenderness and girls beauty.

Ukrainian dance with tambourines –traditional Ukrainian dance, with the use of tambourines.Ukrainian dance “Hopak” – traditional Ukrainian folk dance , the visiting card of Ukraine, in which dancers demonstrate their techniques and ability to perform a great variety of difficult acrobatic movements.

 The dance pieces of wedding of Volyn PolissyaThe traditional dancing activities tend to be a special coloring to the wedding in Volyn Polissya. Every wedding, as a rule is divided in three parts (cycles): so called – the ‘pre’ wedding, the actual wedding and the ‘post’ wedding. Each of the cycles consists of the rites’ rank. Most of the dance activities are focused on the second cycle. Brides’ parents greet the just married couple near the house’s doorstep and give their blessing. Groomsman invites the just married for the first dance. After which a cornet with ‘marshal’ lead the dance, where all the guests are involved.Quite fun and with jokes is a kind of a dance called “Polka on the sackcloth”. The groomsmen lay the sackcloth on the floor, while the dance-experts are demonstrating their skills; they always dance in pairs. Of a great interest is ‘the dance of cooks’. The cooks who prepared food and served the table were involved in that dance. Each of them held at least one piece of cooking utensils like: ‘oven fork’, ‘poker’, ‘scoop’, ‘spoon’ , ‘frying pan’ or ‘pail’.Music plays a great role at the wedding. Rural musicians-virtuoso were active actors involved in the festive event. Usually they played on such music instruments as violin, pipe, tambourine, and since the late 30s on ‘harmonica’ (accordion).
